UGC-style social ad for the Klarna Card

The morning routine
The morning routine follows a Billie Eilish-coded Gen-Z character through the start of her day, where matcha, mirror selfies, and paying with the Klarna Card all live on the same level. Small, everyday moments reveal her colorful, witty personality, with Klarna woven in as naturally as the rituals themselves. The character reflects Klarna’s tone: expressive, self-aware, and effortlessly modern.

Visual direction
The visual language is rooted in real UGC. I researched contemporary Gen-Z creators and leaned into imperfection, off-angles, “bad” natural light, grain, mirror selfies, phone-in-hand poses, and everyday outfits. The goal is an intimate, self-made feel that invites the viewer into real life rather than a polished ad.Pacing is fast and social-native, built from short, quick cuts and minimal, relatable copy. The video hooks immediately with a bedroom selfie and flows straight into her first matcha of the day. A mix of stills and subtle motion reinforces the lo-fi aesthetic and mirrors how creators naturally edit for TikTok and Reels.

Creative Social Ad for the Klarna Card

The Weirdest Places
This concept exaggerates “shop everywhere” by placing the Klarna Card in unexpected yet recognizable, Gen-Z-coded moments, from a tarot reading and late-night hot dog stand to airplane snack splurges, laundromat runs, and a tattoo flash day.
Each moment is small, personal, and slightly absurd, but rooted in real behavior. By treating them all the same, the film shows that Klarna works wherever life happens, across small impulses, big decisions, and everything in between, while letting you choose how to pay without friction.
The result is a fast, scroll-stopping social ad that feels witty, self-aware, and culturally fluent, designed to make the USP land instantly.

Visual direction
Leaning  into Klarna’s visual world, bold, playful, and self-aware, while keeping it personal. The imagery is bright, colorful, flash-driven, and slightly retro. Compositions are intentionally too much, layered with quirky details and confident contrasts to create a strong pattern interruption. The result feels unmistakably Klarna, but grounded in real, human moments rather than polished advertising.
